Haninge

Haninge Municipality, on Stockholm's southern edge, has no top-flight tradition to speak of, and the club that carries its name today is not the one that once tried to build one. IFK Haninge started life in 2004 as Brandbergens IF, took its present identity through a 2012 merger and a 2015 renaming, and now stands as the largest sports association in the municipality — a role the town's original project, Haninge FF, never lived long enough to claim. That earlier club had formed in 1987 out of three local sides, Handens SK, Jordbro SK and Österhaninge IF, folded into Haningealliansens FF in 1999, and went bankrupt in 2006, the same period in which IFK Haninge was finding its feet under a different name.

What IFK Haninge has built instead is a record of steady climbing rather than silverware. The club has gone up three times on the strength of Södra Svealand form: Division 3 in 2016, Division 2 in 2019, and Division 2 again in 2024, each title doing the same job of pushing the club one tier higher. The 2019 promotion carried it into Ettan Norra for the first time; the 2024 one sent it back there for 2025. That return lasted one season — a 14th-place finish out of sixteen took the club straight back down to Division 2 for 2026.

Erkan Zengin has been the name attached to the club during this period, lending it a profile beyond the regional leagues it has mostly occupied. Matches are played at Torvalla idrottsplats, and blue and white, the colours behind the Blåvitt nickname shared with IFK clubs across Sweden, remain the only real constant through the name changes.
