The league title has been harder to repeat — four championships, all won between 1986 and 1996.

That first era of success did not protect Kazma from a harder chapter. At the end of the 2012–13 season the club went down from the Kuwaiti Premier League for the first time in its history, beaten 3–0 by Al-Arabi, one of the rivals it had shared the top of the table with for years. Promotion followed, and the Emir Cup returned to Kazma within a decade of the relegation.

In 2009, marking 45 years since its founding, the club brought Barcelona to Kuwait for a friendly and held them to a 1–1 draw. Among the names who wore the shirt earlier, in the early 1980s, were Jamal Al-Qabendi and Nassir Al-Ghanim, both fixtures of the Kuwait national team of that period.
