Knowle

Down the road in Solihull sits Earlswood Town.

Knowle started out as Knowle Men's Institute in 1926, dropped the works-club name in 1947, and reverted to the name it carries now. In 2017 Storm Doris tore through and destroyed the clubhouse.

The Robins, as they're known locally, have built their honours in cup competitions rather than long title runs: the Birmingham Saturday Vase has come their way four times, most recently in back-to-back seasons, and the Midland League Les James Challenge Cup arrived twice in the same stretch. Three Midland Combination Division One titles, spread across the 2000s, round out a cabinet built on cups won at the right moment rather than campaigns sustained over a full season.

Red shirts and black shorts still turn out at The Robins' Nest on Hampton Road, a ground that holds barely 350 but has been rebuilt around the club more than once, and that stays home for a side whose identity is tied as much to Solihull's back roads as to anything won on the pitch.
