Lansing City Football Club

Lansing City Football Club grew out of a futsal operation of the same name, launched in Michigan's capital in the mid-2010s, when its organisers decided the indoor game needed an outdoor counterpart. That ambition took shape in December 2021, when the club announced it would enter USL League Two, and it took the field for the first time in the 2022 season.

Jeremy Klepal runs the club as president and owner, with Marco Bernardini as head coach, and the roster has leaned heavily on players from Michigan State University rather than a wider recruiting net. Home games are played at Grand Ledge Community Stadium, borrowed from Grand Ledge High School a short drive from Lansing itself; between its home and visitor stands, the ground holds 4,674 spectators. The team has turned out in black and sky blue.

On the field, results have not matched the ambition behind the founding. Lansing City finished fifth in the Great Lakes Division in its debut season, with 13 points, and has not come close to the divisional podium since. The 2025 campaign was the bleakest yet: 12 league games without a win, and a goal difference of 13 for, 44 against.

The club has yet to win a trophy or reach the USL League Two play-offs, and no player who has come through its ranks has been traced to a move into MLS or the USL Championship.
