Flint City Bucks

Two brothers, Dan and Jim Duggan, put a team together in Saginaw in 1995 and called it the Mid-Michigan Bucks. The club moved to Plymouth in 2004, where it became the Michigan Bucks, then to Pontiac in 2008. In October 2018 came the announcement that it would play the following season in Flint, and a naming contest settled what it would be called there.

Atwood Stadium sits in downtown Flint, and the club's colours were chosen to answer the city rather than the badge — blue for its factory work, red for its brick, gold for Kettering University. The supporters call themselves the River Rats.

Four national titles in USL League Two make the Bucks the most successful club in that competition's history. In 2019, in the first season under the new name, Demir Muftari's side beat Reading United AC 1–0 in double overtime, in front of 7,198 — a league attendance record.

The other thing the Bucks are known for is what happens to teams above them in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Paul Doroh has been head coach since 2023.

Pat Noonan played for the Mid-Michigan Bucks in 2002 and went on to win 15 caps for the United States. He was early in a line that has not broken since: the club has had at least one player taken in every MLS Super Draft since 1999.

More than 100 alumni have been drafted or signed by MLS clubs, and the Bucks have never had a losing season.
