Thirty league titles is the headline number, but the shape of it matters more: fourteen of them came in a row, from 2003 to 2016, a stretch that turned the Gibraltar Premier Division into a formality before it became a contest again. Lincoln Red Imps also hold the UEFA record for the longest unbeaten run in a national championship — 88 matches, May 2009 to September 2014 — which sits inside that same decade of near-total control. Twenty-one Rock Cups and thirteen Pepe Reyes Cups round out a trophy room built almost entirely on domestic dominance.

The name borrows from Lincoln City, whose own nickname is the Imps; the club took it, added the colour, and has played in red and white since 1976. Home matches are at Victoria Stadium, which is not really a choice — it is the only ground in Gibraltar, shared by every club in the league, holding 2,300.

Continental football has given the club its two widest audiences. On 12 July 2016, Lee Casciaro's goal beat Celtic 1-0 in Champions League qualifying, one of European football's more startling upsets, though Celtic won the away leg 3-0 and went through. Five years later, on 26 August 2021, Lincoln became the first Gibraltarian side to reach a European group stage, seeing off Riga 4-2 on aggregate in the Conference League play-off round. On 23 October 2025, they went further still: a 2-1 win over Lech Poznań, the first group-stage victory any Gibraltar club has recorded in Europe.

The closest rivalry is with Europa FC, and it turned sharpest in 2016/17, when Lincoln's key player Liam Walker crossed to Europa, who promptly ended the Red Imps' league run and beat them to the Rock Cup as well. The 2019/20 season was voided by the pandemic before Lincoln resumed collecting titles, most recently in 2025.
