In the 2020/21 season, Meshkov Brest reached the quarter-finals of the EHF Champions League, the furthest a Belarusian club has gone in Europe's top handball competition, playing its home leg in a hall in Brest that seats 3,740.
The club takes its name from Anatoly Meshkov, who spent years promoting the sport in Belarus before the team was founded in 2002 and built around it. Domestic titles followed almost at once: five championships in a row between 2004 and 2008.
In the SEHA League, Brest finished runners-up in 2014 and 2015 before finally winning it in 2023, then again in 2024 and 2026.
The squad has long carried foreign names alongside Belarusian ones — French internationals William Accambray and Baptiste Bonnefond, Croatian veterans Vladimir Vranješ and Ivan Pešić, and Montenegro's Vuk Lazović have all played in Brest colours, alongside long-serving Belarusians such as Viachaslau Shumak.
