Neustrelitz

Hansa Rostock came to the 2013 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Cup final as the region's professional side and left beaten 3–0. The 4,500 who watched it remain the largest crowd the competition has drawn. TSG Neustrelitz had taken the same trophy in 2007 and 2008, and would take it again in 2022.

Neustrelitz won the Regionalliga Nordost in 2014, then lost the promotion play-off to the reserve side of Mainz 05 and stayed in the fourth tier. Torsten Gütschow, the East German striker, was in charge that year.

Thomas Franke has been through the club twice over. He played for Energie Cottbus and Dynamo Dresden before wearing the captain's armband at the Parkstadion, and returned in 2022 as head coach.

The 7,000-capacity ground on Pappelallee fills properly for SV Siedenbollentin, the fixture known locally as the Seenplatte-Derby.

The blue and white came late. When the club started out in 1949 it was BSG Konsum Neustrelitz, and over the next two decades it changed its name with its industrial backer — Empor Süd, then Motor, then Maschinelles Rechnen in 1971. Only in 1975, once it was cut loose from its sponsor, did it become TSG Neustrelitz and stay that way.
