Nosta head into the new season in Russia's Second League, Division B, with a Cup run still fresh in mind: in the 2025/26 Regions Path, the club beat Khimik of Dzerzhinsk 3:2 in the second round to reach the third.
The team was founded in 1991 and played its first official match on 21 April that year, in the Soviet championship, under the name Metallurg. Home games are played at the Metallurg stadium, which holds 6,000, and for the 2026 season the club returned to its original colours, red and yellow.
Nosta's clearest calling card is the Russian Cup, where the club has built a habit of catching much bigger sides on the wrong day.
