Torpedo Miass

Trud, the club's ground in Miass, in the Chelyabinsk region, holds 2,980 people and has stayed in place through a history that has involved disappearing and coming back more than once.

Torpedo dropped out of the Soviet second tier after the 1970 season and did not return to professional football until 1988. In the early 1990s it reached the Russian First League, finishing ninth in the Centre zone in 1992. In 1995 the club took the name UralAZ, after the Ural Automobile Plant, and kept it until 2001. It was under the UralAZ name, too, that the club had its best run in the Russian Cup, reaching the last 16 in 1996/97 before losing 0-5 to Lokomotiv.

The club was wound up in 2002, revived the following year under the Torpedo name, then folded again in 2012. Two years later a group led by former player Konstantin Markov and Denis Khitrin reformed it. Professional football did not return until the 2021/22 season, in Division B of the Second League, and in 2023 Torpedo finished top of its zone to earn promotion to Division A.

Trud opened to a club founded on 21 June 1942, in Miass, in the middle of the Second World War.
