Ntugasaze

Ntugasaze go into the 2026/27 season in the Uganda Premier League for the first time, having climbed out of the FUFA Big League after finishing among the promotion places in 2025/26. It is a jump from a club that started, in 2018, as a works team for staff of the Imana Yera Company, makers of the Ntugasaze drinks the side is named after — which is also where the nickname, the Brewers, comes from.

The step up followed a season, 2024/25, in which Ntugasaze finished ninth in the second tier while their forward Lawrence Kambugu top-scored in the league with 15 goals. Promotion itself was built around captain Douglas Oyirwoth, who led the side through the campaign that got them there, and the squad has since been reinforced for the top flight with the signings of Kevin Tevin Kyeyune from Wakiso Giants and Jimmy Ndalambi.

Ntugasaze have never settled on one ground. Kavumba Recreation Ground in Wakiso, which holds 1,000, is listed as their home venue, but they have also played at Mityana Ssaza Ground and at Kira Road Police Arena, moving between them as fixtures demand rather than fixing on a single base in Mityana itself.

Dudu Bosco took over as head coach in June 2026, brought in specifically to take the club into its first Premier League campaign in place of Morgan Chancely. What Bosco does with a newly assembled top-flight squad is what the season will answer.
