Oskarshamn IK

Two established clubs in the town, Oskarshamns AIK and IFK Oskarshamn, had been running separate ice hockey sections until they combined them on 27 May 1970, creating IK Oskarshamn.

That changed in 2018–19. Oskarshamn won the HockeyAllsvenskan playoffs, beating AIK 3–2 in the final, then got past Timrå IK in the qualification series to reach the Swedish Hockey League for the first time in the club's history. They stayed five seasons, 2019 to 2024, before a Play-Out defeat to HV71 sent them back down to the HockeyAllsvenskan.

The county derby against Kalmar HC gives the club its nearest rival on the mainland; the ferry derby against Visby/Roma HK is the odder fixture, shaped by the stretch of water between Oskarshamn and Gotland rather than by proximity.

Goaltender Christoffer Rifalk carried the 2018–19 side through that promotion run, the season the club is still measured against.
