The Oblouková hala, the arched hall the handball section of TJ Sokol Písek calls home, was built in 1996.

That section of the club dates to 1920.

Their peak in the domestic league came twelve years apart: third place in the MOL Liga in 2011/12, and the same finish again in 2023/24. In Europe, the closest they came was a run to the quarter-finals of the EHF Challenge Cup in 2010/11.

What keeps Písek relevant is its academy.

What Písek has never done is turn a bronze medal into a title.
