Rahimo's fixture with RC Bobo carries its own name, the Derby de Bobo-Dioulasso, with ASF Bobo the other side of the city's football map.

The nickname, Les Académiciens de Bama, points to what the club actually set out to do: Issa Kaboré came through it and went to Manchester City for €5m in 2020; Lassina Traoré moved on through Red Bull Salzburg and Shakhtar Donetsk.

The table has come too, though not straight away. Rahimo needed two spells in the second division, taking the Championnat D2 Poule B in 2015–16 and again in 2021–22, before winning the Burkinabé Premier League for the first time in 2018–19. The Coupe du Faso followed the same year, and the club added the Supercoupe du Burkina Faso in 2020 after finishing runner-up in it in 2019.

Matches are played at Stade Wobi. The 2024–25 season brought the league and the Coupe du Faso together again, and Rahimo went back-to-back as champions in 2025–26.
