ŠHK Hodonín

The "Jižanské derby" against Lvi Břeclav ran through the club's history — Hodonín's own founders in 2001 had come back from Břeclav to rebuild the game at home. liga title in 2012–13 after Hodonín had turned the tables on them the year before.

That win over Technika Brno, 3–1 in the 2011–12 final, was the closest the club came to a real trophy, and it still left them short of the 1. liga they were chasing. Hodonín had been there before, under different colours: as SK Hodonín, and later under names such as NAFTA and Baník, the club spent five seasons in the second tier from 1990, finishing fifth in 1994–95 with Roman Čechmánek in goal. That version of the club went bankrupt in 1995, and the rink stood closed for six years before players drifting back from Břeclav put a new one together in 2001.

The Zimní stadion Václava Nedomanského became its home, and its own academy produced Michal Kempný, who made his senior debut in 2008–09 and went on to lift the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals a decade later. None of it added up to promotion. The 2. liga license was sold to Vyškov on 12 May 2022, and the club that had twice finished runner-up before its one title, in 2007, 2010 and 2013, ceased to exist.
