Slatina

Slatina's home ground carries a Communist-era name that never got swapped out: Stadionul 1 Mai, May 1 Stadium, holds 10,000 people, with 6,500 of those seats. CSM Slatina moved in during 2017.

That shuffling is really the story. The current club dates only to the summer of 2009, set up with backing from Slatina's municipality, and it wasted no time — a jump from Liga IV to Liga II inside two seasons, taking the Olt county title in 2009–10 and the Liga III group the year after. Then the money stopped. The municipality pulled funding in 2011, and CSM Slatina merged with FC Piatra Olt, taking that town's name and moving its matches there. A year later the whole project folded, absorbed into the old Alro Slatina club under yet another name, FC Olt — which itself died out in 2016.

Slatina went three years without senior football before CSM Slatina was revived in February 2018, starting again from Liga V. Promotion to Liga IV in 2019, then two Liga III titles, in 2020 and 2022, that put the club back in Liga II, where it still plays. Along the way came a regional Cupa României double, county titles in 2018 and 2019.

Supporters call the team Alb-albaștrii, the white-and-blues, after the kit; locally they're just Slătinenii, the Slatina lot.
