Stal Gorzów

The section came together in 1985, when the game's local base was moved across from the sports university side, AZS-AWF Gorzów Wielkopolski, into KS Stal. Four years in the Ekstraklasa followed, and they were third place in the Polish Cup in 1986, then a run to the final in 1988 that ended in defeat. The section did not survive long past that peak — it was wound up in 1991, its players and its place in the game passed on to KS Sokół Gorzów Wielkopolski.

Handball returned to the Stal name later, working back up from the bottom divisions under a string of sponsored identities — Rajbud Stal, Budimex Stal, TL Ubezpieczenia Stal among them. The climb had two clear markers: the II Liga title in 2015/2016, and the I Liga group win in 2020/2021 that returned the club to the Liga Centralna, the country's second tier, where it has stayed since. Dariusz Molski coached the side through that promotion, having taken over in 2016.

Matches are played at the Hala Sportowa ZS nr 20, a school sports hall seating 645. In August 2025 the section split from Stal altogether, changing hands and rebranding as Aurum Gorzów Wielkopolski under a new badge, though the yellow and blue stayed.
