Rozália Soós finished top scorer at the 1973 World Championship while playing for Mureșul Târgu Mureș. What plays under the CSM Târgu Mureș banner today is a different structure, formed on 19 December 2017, with the handball section taking up the old club's place in the summer of 2018.
Mureșul won the Liga Națională in 1988, having finished runner-up in 1980, 1987 and 1989, and took the Cupa României in both 1987 and 1988. The following year, 1989, the club reached the semi-finals of the European Champions Cup, finishing third. Eszter Mátéfi, Éva Mózsi, Sabine Klimek and Angela Bloj played through those years alongside Soós.
