Vilavelhense

Vilavelhense Futebol Clube won a state title before it had existed a full year. Founded in Vila Velha on 26 August 2002, the club took the Campeonato Capixaba Série B, the second tier of Espírito Santo football, in 2003. The top flight has never gone the same way: the closest Vilavelhense have come to the main Campeonato Capixaba is fourth place, reached in 2007, 2009 and 2026.

A second Série B title followed in 2020, seventeen years after the first. In between, the club won the Copa Espírito Santo in 2006 and lost the following year's final.

Home matches are played at the Estádio Manoel Araújo de Oliveira, officially listed for 1,000 spectators. The fire service cut that number to 784 after an inspection in 2019. Blue, red and white, the colours follow the flag of Vila Velha, and around the city the club goes by a single word: Vila.

Vilavelhense's clearest run of success sits with its junior sides. Between 2007 and 2015 the club won titles across the Juniores, under-17, under-15 and under-13 age groups, the level where its work has told the most.
