Vitez

Vitez sits in central Bosnia, a town of a few thousand in the Lašva valley, and the football club that carries its name began in 1947 as Radnik — a workers' side put together in the years after the Second World War. The name changed; the address did not. The club still operates out of Stari Vitez, the old quarter on the edge of town.

For most of its life the club belonged to the lower divisions of Bosnian football, and the season that changed that was 2012–13. Vitez won the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and went up to the Premier League — the only time the club has reached the top flight. The title had been building for a couple of years: promotion out of the Second League (west) came in 2010–11, and the same division was won again in 2024–25.

Cup football has its own rules, and the 2000–01 competition proved it. Vitez drew Čelik of Zenica in the second round and finished the tie level at 1–1 on aggregate. The away goal took them through against a club from a city several times the size of their own.

The blue and white shirts and the nickname Vitezovi — the Knights — both come from the town itself, whose name means the same thing.

Home is the Gradski stadion Vitez, off Branilaca Starog Viteza in the old quarter. Since its reconstruction the ground holds roughly 3,500 seated, which is a substantial share of the town's population on any afternoon when the First League brings a visiting side down into the valley.
