Weymouth are back in the fourth tier of English non-league football after a 2026 relegation that closes out a rough stretch since their play-off run into the National League in 2020. That promotion lasted only two seasons before the drop to the Southern League in 2022.
The club faced a far more serious threat a decade earlier. Financial trouble between 2009 and 2011 put at risk a side that had been playing since 1890, and supporters responded by taking Weymouth into a trust in 2012.
The Bob Lucas Stadium has been home since 1987, when Weymouth left the Recreation Ground after 89 years there. The ground's current name dates only to 2010.
The club came closer to wider attention in the FA Cup, where a fourth-round tie in 1949 brought Manchester United to Dorset and ended in defeat for the home side.
No one has worn the shirt longer than Ian Hutchinson.
