Kwadwo Baah needed only one senior appearance for Whyteleafe before he moved on into the professional game.

Whyteleafe F.C. was dissolved in June 2021 after it failed to agree a new lease for Church Road with Irama Sport, a property company linked to Ian Rush, in a dispute over back rent and a break clause. Two months later, chairman Kelly Waters put together a phoenix club, AFC Whyteleafe, and secured a four-year deal to bring football back to the same pitch. The new side plays in all green.

AFC Whyteleafe won the Combined Counties League Premier South Division in 2024–25 and reached the FA Vase final that same season, beaten by Whitstable Town.

The original club was formed in 1946 to replace Whyteleafe Albion, the town's pre-war side, and went on to win the Surrey Senior League Premier Division in 1968–69 and the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division in 2013–14 — honours that belong, strictly, to a club that no longer exists on paper, carried forward now by one that picked up its name and its ground.
