The name on the gates has never changed, but almost everyone in Maykop calls it something else. Officially it is the Adygei Republican Stadium; unofficially, since a local club took the name "Druzhba" in 1968, the ground borrowed it too.
It opened in 1949.
In 1969, the home side — then still known as Urozhai — won the RSFSR Class B final tournament here, beating Saturn of Rybinsk in the deciding match. Fifty years on, in 2019, a plaque went up to mark it.
Druzhba play in Russia's Second League Division B, and crowds have settled at around 400 to 500 for a match, a fraction of the 15,000 the stands can hold.
