Arena Zimbrilor
Baia Mare, Romania
Formerly: Stadionul Lascăr Ghineț
It sits back from **Strada 8 Martie**. There are no towering floodlights here.
Built in 1977, it was originally named **Stadionul Lascăr Ghineț**, an engineer who founded the local rugby club. The name changed later to **Arena Zimbrilor**, after the team’s nickname, The Bisons. It is a place for rugby, not football, which is why it feels distinct from the main **Stadionul Municipal "Dealul Florilor"** that dominates the city centre. The pitch is natural grass, cut short for a game played at a different pace than football. The stands are modest, holding 2,300 people. On match days, the crowd is often thin.
The complex is managed by the **Complexul Sportiv Național Lascăr Pană (CSN Lascăr Pană)**, which maintains the grounds and the nearby facilities. The atmosphere is utilitarian.
