CSM Baia Mare

The line runs back to a mining company side founded on 18 September 1977, put together by an engineer, Lascăr Ghineț, with backing from the works' general director — rugby as something the Baia Mare mines gave their workers, before the club passed from the mining centre to the municipality and took the name it carries now, CSM Știința.

Ten Romanian SuperLiga titles run through that history, spread from 1990 to 2025, with six Cupa României wins folded in alongside them. What holds attention is less the count than the spread: a club winning in 1990 and still winning thirty-five years later has not had one good generation, it has had several.
