Bjergets Idrætsanlæg

The ground at Hasselvej 13 carries two names, depending on when you last visited. For years players knew it as Bjergets Idrætsanlæg, but the club eventually added sponsors to the board and settled on XL-Byg Arena. It is a small place, tucked into the Almtoft neighbourhood of Kjellerup.

Kjellerup IF built this place themselves. They did not wait for a municipal project or a developer to step in; they laid the first pitch when the club was still called Fodboldforeningen Skjold. A club house went up in 1937, and the pitch followed. The result is a straightforward strip of natural grass surrounded by a low fence.

The ground has lived through relegation and promotion without changing its shape. It hosted a Danish Cup match in the 2016–17 season when FC Midtjylland came to town, and the crowd filled the available space. More recently it took part in the 2024–25 Danish Cup against AC Horsens, and it has held youth finals for the Jutland and Fyn region. It even hosted a futsal championship final, proving it could handle any surface the sport required.

Attendance figures are hard to pin down because the people who count them disagree. Some say it holds a thousand, others two thousand, and one source claims three thousand. The real number sits somewhere in the middle, close to the 1,321 who turned up for the Midtjylland game.
