Kjellerup

It began in the summer of 1907 as Fodboldforeningen Skjold, and a banner was handed over on 4 August that year. The name Kjellerup Idrætsforening arrived in 1930, along with membership of the Jutland Football Association, and in 1942 a merger with De Forenede Sportsklubber left the name untouched.

The decisive change came four years later. In 1946 the members split the club along sporting lines: gymnastics, athletics and handball went off to form Kjellerup Gymnastikforening, and KIF was left with football and nothing else. Everything since has been the work of a football club rather than a general sports society.

It took until 2011 for that to produce promotion to the professional pyramid. Winning the Danmarksserien that year carried KIF into the 2. Division for the first time. The shirts are yellow, the shorts and socks blue.
