Nørresundby

In 1972 Henning Jensen left for Borussia Mönchengladbach. In 1983 he came back to the same club to finish playing. In 2017 the town put up a statue of him and gave his name to a square.

The club he returned to no longer exists under that name. NBK itself had been an amalgamation — Thor and Velo, joined on 6 June 1946 — and it went the same way at the end, merging with Lindholm IF on 1 July 2015 to form Nørresundby FB. The old body was wound up in 2018.

Before that, NBK climbed: Mesterrækken in 1947, the Jutland Serie 1 titles of the 1960s, Denmarksserien in 1971, 3. division in 1978. The high point came from a play-off in 1988, won against Holbæk B&I, which carried the club into the Kvalifikationsligaen — then the second tier — for the 1990–91 season.

The merged club started in Denmarksserien and was relegated to Jyllandsserien in its first season, 2015–16. It has since worked back to the fifth tier, finishing ninth in Promotion Group 2 in 2024–25, and it drew AaB in the Danish Cup in 2019–20. Home is the Nordjyske Bank Arena on Voerbjergvej, formerly Lindholm Høje Stadion, 1,200 capacity. The shirts, shorts and socks are red throughout, a choice the members of both merging clubs made in 2015.
