Cambrian Lakeside Sports Academy

Cambrian Lakeside Sports Academy sits in Clydach Vale, a village folded into Tonypandy, and the ground answers to two names at once. Locally, and on the club's own pages, it goes by the Academy tag; in league records and on the football databases that clubs like this rarely bother correcting, it is still listed as King George V New Field. No document marks the moment one name replaced the other, and it probably never happened as a formal act — the pitch just picked up a second identity as the site grew around it.

What did happen, and when, was the laying of a 3G surface in 2013. That single change put Cambrian & Clydach Vale BGC, the club now known as Cambrian United, ahead of every other side in Rhondda Cynon Taf. There is no undersoil heating beneath it, nothing to soften a February frost, but the surface itself was the point: a small club in a valley village fielding a pitch that bigger neighbours didn't have.

The ground is on Highfield Road in Clydach Vale. Cambrian United publish their own updates through cambrianunited.cymru, since the Academy has no separate site of its own — the pitch is treated as part of the club rather than an institution standing apart from it.
