Estádio Alfredo de Castilho

The Estádio Alfredo de Castilho in Bauru does not look like a modern arena.

History defines the ground. It opened in 1935, but what you see now was largely rebuilt after a fire destroyed part of the original structure in 1958. Local railway workers helped raise the new stands, which reopened in 1960 before the name was restored to its current form in 1964. The venue has been the home of Esporte Clube Noroeste since the club purchased it in 1986.

The playing surface is natural grass, a change made in late 2024 after a hybrid pitch had been in use. This shift to Bermuda Tifway 419 grass was intended to meet the demands of the 2025 season.

There is a discrepancy regarding how many people can fit inside. The Brazilian Football Confederation’s national registry lists a capacity of 18,866, while a 2022 safety report suggests the authorized number is 15,420.

The stadium holds a specific memory for local football. On September 15, 1974, a crowd of 23,640 gathered for a Campeonato Paulista match between Noroeste and SE Palmeiras. The visitors won 1–2, but the number of attendees still stands as the record for the ground. More recently, it has hosted finals for the Campeonato Paulista Série A2 and Série A3, keeping the venue central to the region's football calendar.
