Estádio Bernardo Rubinger de Queiroz

The Estádio Bernardo Rubinger de Queiroz sits in Patos de Minas, a modest town in the state of Minas Gerais where the football club Esporte Clube Mamoré makes its home. The ground is positioned between the Ipanema and Planalto neighbourhoods, close to Avenida JK, and it is easy to spot.

The venue opened in 2009, built on the site of a previous stadium that had been knocked down to make room for a shopping centre. It was named after Bernardo Rubinger de Queiroz, a local politician and lawyer who died the year before the ground opened. The pitch is natural grass, brought in from Europe, and the team uses it for matches in the Campeonato Mineiro and the state's second division. The building has a capacity of just over ten thousand, and a record crowd of around five thousand people turned up for a semi-final match against Guarani de Divinópolis in 2023.

The stadium has its own character, shaped by the weather and the town's history. Strong winds have sometimes caused damage to the roof, and snakes have been found wandering outside the seating area on occasion. It has hosted concerts and derby matches, but the main thing is that it is the only proper football ground in the city now.
