Estadio Ciudad de Lanús – Néstor Díaz Pérez

Lanús built its own ground rather than renting one, on land the Ferrocarril del Sud handed over free of charge, and opened it on 24 February 1929 under club president Silvio Peri.

The place everyone calls it tells you more than the official name does. La Fortaleza is not a marketing tag; it describes a stadium that has made life difficult for visiting sides for the better part of a century. A roof went up over the home end in 2010, and the dressing rooms and press facilities were redone in 2014.

Néstor Díaz Pérez, club president in the second half of the 1980s, was credited with shaping the stadium into its modern form, and his name was added to the official title in 2005. He died in April 2024, aged 76.
