The name is the giveaway: Estádio do Café sits in the middle of Brazil's principal coffee-growing region, and the ground has carried that nickname since it opened on 22 August 1976, even after the city added the formal designation Estádio Municipal Jacy Scaff in 2000, honouring a former LEC director and club president. Both names are still used interchangeably today.

Attendance tells its own story of decline. The record stands at 54,178, set on 15 February 1978 when Londrina beat Corinthians 1-0 in the Torneio de Acesso — a figure that has not been matched since capacity was cut to 19,000. That reduction followed a period when the official figure sat at 28,000-30,000.

Away from football, the stadium built a second life as a concert venue. In November 1996, a joint tour billed as Turnê Amigos brought together Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, Leandro & Leonardo and Chitãozinho & Xororó, with organisers claiming a 40,000 crowd. Titãs performed on 8 December 2023 with a date on their farewell tour, Encontro Pra Dizer Adeus.
