Much of the place was paid for by the people who watch football in it. From 1956 the club ran a campaign it called «100 000 кирпичей» — a hundred thousand bricks — to raise the perimeter walls, and supporters kept turning up to work on later structures too.

The first match, on 25 May 1960, brought Paraguayan side «Серро Портеньо» to face «Чако Фор Эвер».

«Чако Фор Эвер» play here in the Примера Насьональ, but the pitch has known the top flight: «Ривер Плейт», «Бока Хуниорс», «Индепендьенте», «Расинг», «Сан-Лоренсо» and «Велес Сарсфилд» have all come to the avenue. So has Soda Stereo, and La Renga, and Раффаэлла Карра.
