Estádio Municipal Roberto Siqueira Costa
Serra, Brazil
Formerly: Robertão, Alçapão Tricolor
Serra's ground doubles as a nickname before you even ask what it means: Robertão to some, Alçapão Tricolor — the tricolour trapdoor — to others. It opened in 1931, and the record of that first afternoon survives with a precision most municipal grounds of the era have long lost: Serra Futebol Clube 4, Conilon 0.
What it lacked for eight decades was room. The original stands held around 1,400, a figure that stayed put through the ground's working life until 2011, when the club rebuilt the terracing at a cost of two million reais and pushed capacity to its current 2,000.
Squeezed onto Rua Putiri in Serra Centro, it has never chased the kind of crowd its record attendance suggests it could hold: 5,300 came through once, more than double what the ground now officially takes, on a 26 July whose year has slipped from the record books even as the number itself held. The pitch remains natural turf, laid out to the standard 105 by 68 metres.
Serra Futebol Clube still calls it home, and still lists the address on its own site rather than leaving visitors to municipal signage.
