Fjellhamar Arena

Fjellhamar Arena opened in January 2023 as the sporting heart of a new school complex in Lørenskog. Unlike the outdoor stadium down the road, this is an indoor hall. The facility sits at Marcus Thranes vei 98, integrated directly into the Nye Fjellhamar skole, meaning the building serves a dual purpose from the moment a visitor arrives. The roof covers two multi-purpose halls, and the playing surface is a synthetic floor supplied by Mondo Contract Flooring, designed for shock absorption rather than the weather.

Fjellhamar Arena does not host the local football club, which plays at the nearby Fjellhamar Stadion. Instead, the hall belongs to Fjellhammer IL, a handball side that plays out of the district. The spectator capacity is approximately 2,000, though the seating is split between fixed stands and standing areas. In September 2024, the hall held 1,425 people for a fixture against Kolstad. Another match in November drew 1,386 attendees.

The building’s structure is defined by its integration with the school. There is no separate municipal website for the arena; information is managed through the Lørenskog Municipality portal or the local club’s site, fjellhammer.no. The construction was handled by Betonmast Romerike AS, with GASA AS responsible for the design. The hall is used for volleyball as well as handball.
