The ground at Højlyngen in Aarhus West does not belong to a club that fills the stands on Saturday afternoons, but it carries the weight of a merger. Fuglebakken KFUM Århus was formed in 2008, a time when the local game was consolidating, and this patch of turf at Højlyngen 2A became the anchor for the new entity. The club plays in the Denmark Series, a tier where the hierarchy is clear and the pitch is a workplace rather than a spectacle.

The surface tells the story of modernisation. It is artificial turf, a decision made in June 2020 to ensure the ground could be used regardless of the weather. The installation was delayed, pushed back from an original November deadline, but the lights were installed and the field was ready by January 2023. The club did not build it for a specific tournament; they built it for survival, for the ability to play in the dark and the cold.

There are no grand stands to shield the spectators from the wind. The capacity is small, around 500 people, a figure that fits the description of a local amateur ground. The absence of running tracks means the focus remains entirely on the rectangle. The stadium also hosts Aarhus Fremad II, stretching the utility of the space throughout the week.

The building itself is functional. The name NTG Road A/S Arena appears on the signage, a commercial label layered over the local name Højlyngen. There are no records of large crowds or dramatic shifts in fortune here. The ground simply exists, maintained for the players who train on its synthetic surface, far from the lights of the top flight.
