Fuglebakken KFUM

Højlyngen sits in the west of Aarhus, at Højlyngen 2A in the 8210 postcode, and it holds 500 people — a ground for a club that fields its teams from the same streets that surround it. The naming rights now sit with a haulage firm, so the pitch also answers to NTG Road A/S Arena, though nobody in Aarhus V calls it that.

The club in its present form dates from 2008, when KFUMs Boldklub Århus and Idrætsforeningen Hasle Fuglebakken agreed to merge. The second of those was itself a merger, put together in 1973 out of Idrætsforeningen Fuglebakken and part of Hasle Boldklub. Two rounds of consolidation in thirty-five years is the plain history of amateur football in a growing suburb: the catchment kept shifting, and the clubs followed it rather than fought over it.

The 2024/25 season ended with first place in group 1 of the Jutland Series 1 and promotion. That earned a run in the DBU Pokalen the following season, which ended against Vendsyssel FF, 1–2 — close enough against a side from the professional game, but the tie was gone.

Fuglebakken's other role is as a partner club to AGF Aarhus, and in September 2025 it was named Årets Samarbejdsklub — collaboration club of the year — within that arrangement. The pathway is not theoretical. Mads Buttgereit took his first coaching work here in 2009 and 2010, with the under-13s, before moving on to the AaB academy and then to FC Midtjylland, where he built a career as a set-piece specialist.

Danni Ahmad Baddour has the first team for the 2025/26 season, in red shirts and navy shorts, with the immediate job of holding the division the club won its way into last spring.
