Construction started on 29 October 2018, and the first phase opened on 12 February 2022 with a capacity of just 5,836, enough to stage FC Košice's opening match against FK Slavoj Trebišov, won 2:0. The remaining stands, and the rest of the seating, weren't finished until the ceremonial completion in the spring of 2024.
Finished, it holds 12,555, all seated, on a natural grass pitch. The construction cost came to €22.5 million. It has been granted UEFA Category 4 status.
