Krasnodar has two big arenas within a short distance of each other, and this is the newer one — a bowl built for a club still finding its footing in the Russian top flight, without the decades of history its cross-town neighbour carries. Ozon Arena holds 34,291 spectators, a number that sits it comfortably among the country's larger club grounds without pushing into the bracket reserved for national-team venues.

What the arena represents in the city's football landscape is straightforward: a purpose-built home for a side trying to compete with clubs that have far longer top-division pedigrees, on a ground that does not carry a past life under another name or another sport.
