Parc des Sports Aguiléra
Biarritz, France
The Parc des Sports Aguiléra in Biarritz does not look like a place built for football. This is the home of Biarritz Olympique.
The ground has been here for a long time. The city bought the land in 1905 and opened the first stand in 1922, which still stands today on the opposite side. The renovation in 2003 gave the main stand its current shape, but the older parts remain.
The surface is artificial now. The city replaced the grass in 2025 with a synthetic material made of polyethylene and cork. There is no heating under the pitch, so the surface stays cold when the Atlantic weather moves in. The stadium is owned by the city of Biarritz, which has kept it running even when the "Super Aguiléra" project was scrapped a decade ago.
