The ground sits in the Howrah Maidan area. The pitch is natural grass, kept flat despite the age of the surrounding structure.

What makes this place distinct from the identical ones down the road is the view from the higher tier. This is a relic of municipal ambition, built by the Howrah Municipal Corporation and now maintained through sporadic renovation. The capacity remains a matter of interpretation, with figures floating between five thousand and thirty thousand depending on which ledger you open.

It has hosted matches that drew modest crowds. During the 2006 AFC Youth Championship, the ground saw Kyrgyzstan play Jordan and Australia face the UAE, with three thousand spectators turning up for the latter. More recently, it has served as a home for local sides like Howrah Hooghly Warriors FC in the Bengal Super League. The Santosh Trophy semi-final saw Bengal defeat Karnataka 2–0, a result that added a layer of history to the concrete steps.
