Sportgelände an der Speyererstraße: Stadium in Heidelberg

The ground sits in the Weststadt district. It is the home of the rugby union team of Heidelberger Ruderklub 1872 e.V. (Heidelberger RK). The club moved to this specific site in 1961 , having spent the preceding years without a permanent home field. The pitch is defined by its artificial turf, which was installed ahead of the 2015–16 season.

Heidelberger RK competes in the Rugby-Bundesliga. The team secured a run of titles from 2010–2015 , followed by further successes in 2017 and 2018 .

The venue also hosted matches during the 2016–17 European Rugby Challenge Cup. Opponents such as Timișoara Saracens and Kituro Rugby Club visited this pitch. The official website, hrk1872.de, provides information on the club’s activities, though the ground itself lacks the infrastructure of floodlights or detailed public numbering on Speyerer Straße.
