Stade Marcel Volot
Nice, France
Formerly: Stade des Arboras
The stadium at 247 boulevard du Mercantour is a plain, functional ground in the Arboras district of Nice, built in 1998 and long known as Stade des Arboras. It has served Nissa Rugby for decades. On 5 June 2024 , the City of Nice renamed it Stade Marcel Volot, honoring a former player and club president who died in 2014.
What the ground is for now is simple: it hosts Nissa Rugby, a side that recently climbed to Pro D2, the French second division, and the Dauphins de Nice American football team. The pitch is natural grass, the capacity hovers around three thousand. The club does not play in the top flight; it plays hard matches in front of crowds that fill the space when it matters.
On 27 May 2018 the stadium was sold out for a Nationale match against Albi. Nissa Rugby won 47–15, securing first place in the regular season. As they did again in May 2024 for a semi-final against Suresnes.
Nothing is permanent here. In early 2025 the city announced a €20 million project to rebuild the stadium on the same site. A temporary stand will seat 1,500 until a new arena with 10,000 to 12,000 seats opens for the 2029–2030 season.
