Stadio San Donato in Poggio
Barberino Tavarnelle, Italy
Formerly: Stadio Comunale di Tavarnelle
The home of ASD San Donato Tavarnelle sits in the hamlet of San Donato in Poggio. It is not a city ground. The club moved here after a merger in 2006, leaving behind a field in Via della Pineta. The venue carries the name of Leonardo Pianigiani, the first president of the merged entity, who died in 2008. At the time, the ground was still known to many as the Stadio Comunale di Tavarnelle.
The most striking feature is the playing surface. The artificial turf was laid down in March 2024, following a renovation project funded by the municipality. It cost roughly €1.1 million. The change came as the club prepared for life in Serie D (Girone E).
The capacity is small—400 spectators, according to most records. The opening year of the original structure is lost to time, but the new surface is fresh. It is a place where local football happens, far from the noise of the big leagues.
It is ordinary, and that is enough.
