Stadion Orkana Sochaczew

Stadion Orkana Sochaczew carries the weight of Polish rugby history rather than football. The ground sits on a site that originally served as a grassy field before becoming a proper sports venue, marking its roots in the region's sporting culture.

The 1970s proved a golden era for the stadium, when it earned the nickname "Sochaczew Maracana" following high attendances and the success of the local rugby team established that decade. The stands held crowds that reflected the community's passion for the sport, with supporters filling the standing areas to watch matches that defined the town's sporting identity.

Recent years have seen the ground transformed through a modernization project completed between 2018 and 2020. The project also introduced a running track around the perimeter, alongside the natural grass pitch that remains central to the venue's character.

The stadium's most significant recent occasion came in June 2024, when it hosted the Polish Rugby Ekstraliga Final. Orlen Orkan Sochaczew secured their championship title on this pitch, defeating Ogniwo Sopot 22:18 in front of a crowd that celebrated the victory.

The municipal centre operates the facility, maintaining both the playing surface and the spectator areas that have evolved through different eras of Polish sport.

The stadium has also hosted international rugby fixtures, welcoming teams from Morocco, Italy and Moldova across different decades. These matches added another layer to the ground's sporting heritage.
