Stadiumi i Qytetit Gjakovë

The ground sits in Lagja e Balecit, the Roma quarter of Gjakovë, on Rruga Abdullah Tahiri, which is part of why the club and the neighbourhood have shared the same walls since 1927. The name has never changed: Stadiumi i Qytetit, the City Stadium, plain and unamended.

The stadium is mid-reconstruction, and the figure attached to the finished version — 13,800 seats — belongs to a building that does not yet exist. Until the work is done, KF Vëllaznimi Gjakovë play in front of roughly 6,000, less than half the eventual capacity. Anyone arriving with the headline number in mind will find a smaller, older place than advertised.

The pitch is natural grass, and there is no plan on record to change that.

The club is the constant. Vëllaznimi have been the tenants throughout, which means the ground's history is essentially the club's history — there is no second occupant to complicate it, no groundshare, no rebranding. That also explains the conservatism about the name. Grounds elsewhere in the region have picked up sponsors and dropped them again; this one has stayed the City Stadium through every change of state, currency and league around it.

Visitors sometimes confuse it with the similarly named ground in Gjilan, on the other side of the country, which opened four decades later. The two are unrelated beyond the wording.
