Vëllaznimi

The Stadiumi i Qytetit Gjakovë takes its name straight from the city it sits in, and after a reconstruction completed in 2024 it now holds 13,800 people, a figure that finally settled a discrepancy that had older sources listing anywhere from 6,000 to nearly 15,000 seats. It is where Vëllaznimi have made their home through several changes of name — the club started out in 1927 as Shpata e Kosovës, went through a spell as Pashtriku, then Ylli i Kuq, before settling on Vëllaznimi, meaning Brotherhood.

The red and black shirts are older than the current name. In 1967 Vëllaznimi became the first club in Kosovo to wear that combination, and the colours stuck long enough to give the team their nickname, Kuqezinjët e Jakoves — the Red-and-Blacks of Gjakova.

The trophy cabinet belongs almost entirely to one stretch of the club's history. Vëllaznimi were champions of Kosovo nine times between 1968 and 1990, a run that made them one of the dominant sides of that era before the league's structure changed around them. The Kosovo Cup came later and only once, in 2008, alongside three earlier wins in the old Kosovar Province League Cup during the 1980s.

Gjakova remains a red-and-black city on matchdays, with the club still built around the ground that carries its name.
