Prishtina e Re went into last season in the Superliga and came out of it in tenth place, back down to the First League for 2026. Getting there in the first place had been the point: promotion in 2024/25 was the first time the club had reached the top flight, and it lasted one season.

The club started in 2017 as SHF Shkëndija Hajvali, a football school in the village of Hajvali named after the local primary school there. It stayed at that level until 2020, when a sponsorship deal with M-Technologie, part of the Mabetex group, funded a senior team and a run up through the lower leagues. The rename came in 2023, after the club reached the First League: Prishtina e Re, taken from a residential development near Hajvali rather than from the historic Prishtina club whose name it echoes.

Hajvali still serves as the base, but its facilities do not meet Superliga standards, so home matches in the top two divisions are played at the FFK National Educational Camp in Pristina, which holds 4,000. The club plays in white and sky blue and has yet to win a major trophy; a quarter-final finish in the Kosovo Cup in 2024/25 stands as its best cup run so far.

Sami Boroci left his post as sporting director in May 2025 after five years in the job. The captain, Elvis Prenci, is Albanian, part of a squad that also draws on players from Brazil, Guinea-Bissau and Belgium.
