Tersztyánszky Ödön Sportközpont
Csákvár, Hungary
Formerly: unknown
The name over the gate belongs to a walker, not a footballer. Csákvár gave its ground to Ödön Tersztyánszky, an Olympic champion born in the town, and it did so in 2004, when a large refurbishment gave the place a reason to rename itself.
That refurbishment is the hinge in the story. Before it, a village sports centre on Vöröskapu utca; after it, a ground that would carry the name of the town's one internationally known athlete, and a ground the Hungarian federation was willing to use.
The tenants are Aqvital FC Csákvár, formerly Csákvári TK, and the club's grass pitch does duty for more than football. On 24 August 2018 the Hungarian folk-metal band Kárpátia played the sportközpont.
The address is the address, the pitch is grass, and the ground has been where it is since 1983.
